The Environmental Laboratory’s mission, which is part of the Corporate Technical Centre (CTEC) at the Outão plant, is to provide technical and technological assistance to the different Secil companies, conducting reviews of environmental performance and health and safety in the workplace.
Secil therefore provides another important resource for the continuous improvement of the working conditions of its employees and the environmental performance of all its businesses.
In addition to support for the Secil companies, the laboratory also offers its services to external entities, in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements and NP EN ISO/IEC 17025.
The services available at the Environmental Laboratory are:
Environmental noise assessment:¹
- Measurement of the average long-term sound level;
- Discomfort criteria;
Evaluation of noise in the workplace;¹
Evaluation of worker exposure to vibrations:¹
- Measurement of vibrations in the whole body;
- Measurement of vibrations transmitted to the hand-arm system;
Evaluation of suspended particulates (PM10) in ambient air;
Evaluation of atmospheric emissions from fixed sources:
- Gases (SO2, NOx, CO, CO2, O2)
- Heavy metals (Hg, Cd, Tl, Sb, As, Pb, Cr, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, V)
- Dioxins and furans (PCDD / F).
Measurement of gas flow characteristics:
- Speed / flow
Identification of sources of noise and support for implementation of sound impact reduction measures.
